Titanic History. Titanic departs Southampton.

Welcome! This website is dedicated to the history of the Titanic, probably the world's most famous ship. My name is André Price and I am a Titanic Historian and lecturer. I have been researching the history of the Titanic and The White Star Line for over twenty years and I have visited most of the locations connected with the liner.

I was fortunate to become friends with the youngest and last Titanic survivor, Millvina Dean. She inspired me to create Titanic-History.com to share my knowledge of the locations connected to the Titanic. This website has different sections focusing on the people and places that are forever linked with the tragic ship; from Harland & Wolff in Belfast where the Titanic was designed and constructed to the port of Southampton where passengers boarded the liner for her maiden voyage, then to Cherbourg in France and Queenstown (now Cobh) in Ireland, which was the Titanic's last port of call.

Sadly, the Titanic never made it to her intended destination New York and foundered at 2:20 am on the 15th April 1912, after colliding with an iceberg. Titanic enters history as the 'Unsinkable Ship' that sank on her Maiden Voyage. 1,522 souls lost their lives in the disaster and only 705 people survived. The Titanic now rests in her watery grave at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean and may all the people that were connected with her rest in peace.
